Warnings Signs Of Diabetes

Warnings Signs Of Diabetes

A-Definition

Diabetes is a chronic disease that can not be cured, but can be treated and controlled. It is caused by a lack of use of a hormone called insulin.

Insulin is a hormone produced by the islets of Langerhans of the pancreatic ;It allows the cells to use sugar (glucose) to produce energy or to store it for future use.

When there is a lack of insulin or when it can not do its job well, as in diabetes, glucose can not be used as fuel for cells. It then accumulates in the blood and causes an increase in sugar level (hyperglycemia).

In the long run, high blood sugar causes certain complications, especially in the eyes, kidneys, nerves, heart and blood vessels.

There are different types of diabetes: prediabetes, type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes.

B-Types Of Diabetes:

-Diadetes Types1

Type 1 diabetes, or insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM), juvenile diabetes or innate diabetes (formerly known as diabetes mellitus), accounts for 5 to 10% of all diabetes cases. it is a chronic condition in children or young adults (or much more rarely in the elderly).

-Diadetes Types2

Hyperglycemia (also known as non insulin-dépendent) is s a long-term metabolic disorder that is characterized by high blood glucose above 1.26 g / l (7 mmol / l) after an 8-hour fastn and relative lack of insulin.Rates of type 2 diabetes is approximately 392 million people. It usually only occurs after 40 years (this is why it is sometimes called "adult diabetes"), the disease is diagnosed at an average age close to 65 years.

C-Causes of Diabetes:

The pathophysiology says that type 1 diabetes has an autoimmune origin. The immune system will destroy the Langherans islets of the pancreas due to genetic factors and / or viral infection (rubella for example).

The pathophysiology of type 2 diabetes is characterized by a decrease in insulin secretion leading to hyperglycemia. Nevertheless it is not an autoimmune pathology. Type 2 diabetes is due to a set of genes that can be expressed in terms of environmental and dietary factors.
